Field Trip Digging Up Sweet Potatoes

The wind becomes chillier as autumn begins to enfold. We divided into two groups and spent 2 days on a field trip digging sweet potatoes in Tanba, an our annual Kazenoko Hoikuen event. Each child held a shovel and dug up many sweet potatoes with the help of their friends. After digging up sweet potatoes, we walked around our retreat house in Tanba and caught crabs, a special nature treat.! Everyone ate steamed sweet potatoes for their snack and was greatly pleased. Thank you very much to those who grew the sweet potatoes.
