Japanese plum syrup

We brought the Japanese plums we had picked at the Nature School Program in Tanba in June, and made syrup. We hulled Japanese plums and preparations were underway in no time. The children seemed to be excited that the plums they picked would turn into syrup. They impatiently asked, “When will it be ready to drink?” right after we had pickled them. One month later, we put the syrup on shaved ice and ate it. The children were really satisfied with the syrup they had made by themselves.
