Chakin shibori 　(Sweet potato twists)

When staff said, “Today we are going to make Chakin shibori for snack”, children gathered, asking “What’s that?” We taught them how to make it. First, we worked together to peel hot sweet potatoes and crushed them carefully. The children experimenting with all kinds of shapes not only circles. We heard them saying happily, “I’ll make a heart shape!” and “I’ll make a star shape〜.” The ingredients are very simple: sweet potatoes, sugar, and milk. The children enjoyed the taste of the ingredients, saying “It’s pretty sweet even with just a little bit of sugar♪”

Let’s peel it nicely and make them delicious♪		We need to put some muscle into it don’t we?
I’ve decided on a star shape〜.		It’s difficult to make a heart shape…
Ta-dah! They came out well.		It’s sweet and so tasty, isn’t it?
