Harvesting rice (November)

The other day, we harvestedthe rice which we have been growing for some time. A child cuts the rice straw with scissors while saying, “I’ve done this before with my grandpa!” After harvesting the rice, we tried the threshing method our staff researched. The children were very active! We threshed rice effectively by using milk cartons and bowls.
After threshing, we wondered how many grains there were, so played a guessing game. Children were saying, “1000 grains!”, “1500 grains!” etc. We spent an hour counting all the grains. The correct answer was 2429 grains! We polished five buckets of the rice ready to eat♪
The first rice harvesting challenge!
Can you cut it well?

A threshing method by bowls was introduced on the internet.

See, like this♪

It’d been on our minds, so we counted them one by one.

We are looking forward to polishing and eating them♪
