Class "Zou" Graduation - Congratulations!
From “Kazenoko Letter” No.458 - March 2016

This year's childcare has come to an end all too soon. The 5-year-old children from Class "Zou" (elephant) will soon have a farewell ceremony. We will send 29 children off this year.

8 of these children joined us at the age of 0, so they have been with us for 6 years. 13 children have come here for 5 years since they were a year old. Most of their waking time was at our center, so it's no exaggeration to say that this place is their second home.

At the same time, the guardians, especially the mothers who have brought their child to our center all this time will feel the same sense of accomplishment as their child. The fact that your child is growing up and going to an elementary school must add to your joy greatly.

Well, it's said that the daycare center is the place most missed by children when they are at the stage of adolescence. It's probably because they have absorbed the repeated experience of playing, eating and sleeping every day for such a long time. Every year, many children come to our night stall festival which is held at the end of August. Though they might usually hesitate on entering our center, I believe it's easy to come through our gates during festival time. You can spot long-time friends talking to each other here and there.

On the evening of February 19th, there was a meeting with the class teacher for guardians whose children are graduating from our center. The mothers talked about their worries and anxieties for their child's future after entering elementary school. They talked about life rhythms, going to school and coming home without trouble forgetting things for or at school, whether they will be able to make friends or not, etc., but worried especially about bullying.

Entering elementary school, these 5-year-old children of Class "Zou" don't just suddenly grow up. We still need to give them lots of support. New paths and tasks await the children one afte another, so together, please help them build their lives. I wish for their healthy and happy growth.
