Childcare with an Open Curriculum 4
From “Kazenoko Letter” No.439 - August 2014

Newspapers often report of young men involved in antisocial behavior as unemployed. As well as these kinds of people, there are also many young men who are called "freeters" (job-hoppers or part-time workers). I wonder why they don’t try to live by having a stable job.

I believe the cause of such young men can be found in the education they receive from young childhood to school-age. I think if a child is supervised as part of a group and lives by following directions all day long from their childhood, they might subconsciously want to escape from restrictions during their adolescence, and it might not bring them their independence when they become an adult.

Therefore, our Childcare with an Open Curriculum is chosen based on the idea of doing the groundwork in creating an independent person who can think for themselves and decide their own actions in the future.
