| Every daycare center has unique characterestics, and here at Kazenoko
Hoikuen we are no exception. This year, I'd like to introduce our features
every month in a serial form. The features of our daycare center intimately connect to the philosophy of our corporation. Our strongest feature is “Childcare with an Open Curriculum”. Not everything is open in our curriculum, but the foundation of the children's lifestyle is an Open Curriculum. The idea of Open Curriculum often causes misunderstanding. It can be interpreted as children being able to do anything they want. However, “Childcare with an Open Curriculum” is actually a strict educational concept and one of our methods of childcare. If I try to explain “Childcare with an Open Curriculum” in detail, it is enough to fill a whole book, so it's not possible to discuss it here now. However, it is obvious that the philosophy of traditional childcare for preschool children is based on “Childcare with an Open Curriculum”. |
